The Bug Factory is the perfect solution for affordable, nutritious live feed for your fish, poultry, birds, reptiles and other exotics. Our pods are a unique 3-tiered design that creates the ideal ecosystem for a continual supply of live mealworms. Escape-proof habitat is designed to produce 150g - 300g of mealworms per tray. Recycle your fruit and vegetable waste with our mealworm pods, while providing moisture to the colony. Turn your low cost waste feed (wheat bran, oatmeal) into high-quality pet feed. Carbon filters mitigate odors. Perforated lids keep colonies well oxygenated while simplifying harvesting of frass (castings, exoskeltons) through sifting. Adult beetles are cloistered in the blue breeding tray, keeping the distinct lifecycles separated for superior performance. Expand your colony vertically up to 6 pods high for greater harvests! |

Our mealworm single pod habitat is perfect if you want to add more pods to increase your mealworm output, or if you simply just want a single tray to store your insects. Ideal for mealworms, mini mealworms, super worms and calci worms. A sustainable, more affordable solution for nutritious feed for your pets. These no longer come with carbon filters, which are readily available online.

Warranty
Our habitats are very durable and designed last for years. They are warrantied for defects for 1 year from delivery. This does not include the consumables (carbon filters).
Shipping
We normally shipping out units from our NC facility via Fedex Ground or USPS in 1-2 business days, weather permitting. Delivery is usually less than a week, depending on zone. We do not ship outside the USA. If you need to make special shipping arrangements, simply contact our office and we will do our very best to accommodate your needs. Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands have a special order button above.
Returns
Customers may return product within 30 days of delivery. Contact us for a RMA #. A 15% restocking fee applies. All returns should be send to Tar River Trading Post, 385 Fleming Road, Youngsville, NC 27596.
Damages
Any damaged or missing items should be reported to [email protected] within 48-72 hours. For parcels lost or stolen, please additionally notify the carrier as well as our office as soon as this is discovered. We do make an effort to have extra parts throughout the year, should they be needed.
Privacy
We do not collect or share your personal information with 3rd parties (unless required by law enforcement). All payment transactions are secure and processed through SQUARE, STRIPE or PAYPAL. We do not retain financial details of our clients.
Climate
Tar River Trading Post, LLC and BeoBia, LTD have made significant investments to reduce our carbon impacts. TRTP's warehouse and distribution facility is now entirely powered by photovoltaics. Our main processor, Stripe, directly funds carbon removal projects. Except for US territories, we only ship via ground service to reduce emissions.

Sample Requests (Dealers)If you are a prospective reseller, educator or representative from a nonprofit or government agency and wish to purchase a sample unit for testing and evaluation purposes, we do make a small number of discounted units available annually. These units are new and identical to the rest of our inventory. The only condition is you cannot resell the sample (unless you of course become an authorized dealer). Only one discounted sample per organization - commercial addresses from the 48 mainland states only, please.
